Our Favorite 24 FT Travel Trailer Floor Plans

A 24-FOOT TRAVEL TRAILER is a smart choice for families and couples who want the comforts of home in a small, easily maneuverable camper. With unlimited options for adventure, this list of our favorite 24’ travel trailer floor plans allows owners to snag a secluded camping spot along the river or to slip in amongst the trees where bigger, heavier trailers can’t go.

But why exactly a 24′ trailer? This length strikes the perfect balance—big enough for a full kitchen, bathroom, and comfortable sleeping space, yet small enough to tow easily and fit into tighter campsites. For many RVers, 24 feet is the “just right” size. There actually aren’t too many travel trailers that are exactly 24 feet long. So to give you options, we narrowed our list down to travel trailers ranging from 23’6” to 24’7”— many of which are lightweight and SUV-towable.

Key Takeaways

  • 24-foot travel trailers offer big-camper comfort in a compact, maneuverable size, making them ideal for couples or small families who want access to tighter campsites, national parks, or off-grid spots.
  • Layouts vary widely — Murphy beds, rear baths, bunkhouses, and unique floorplans, such as rear kitchens or front dinettes, maximize sleeping capacity, storage, and functionality without adding slides or weight.
  • Many models prioritize versatility and towing ease, offering SUV-towable weights, clever storage solutions, and multi-use furniture that comfortably accommodates 4 to 8 people in under 25 feet.

24’ Travel Trailers with Murphy Beds

Murphy beds offer RVers unique benefits, increasing the living space in smaller campers without sacrificing a comfortable night’s sleep. A Murphy bed folds up into the wall when not in use, allowing for more living space during the day and providing a dedicated sleeping space at night.

Let’s take a look at these 24-foot travel trailers with Murphy beds:

Jayco Jay Flight SLX 197MBW

Images by Camping World

Specs

  • Length: 23’7
  • Dry Weight: 3,815 pounds
  • Cargo Capacity: 1,320 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 8

Favorite Feature: 600-Pound Rating on the Double Bunks

Families will love the combination of affordability and sleeping capacity in the Jay Flight SLX 197MBW. Sleeping up to eight in a travel trailer with a GVWR under 5,000 pounds is rare, but Jayco manages it well in this compact 24-foot travel trailer.

Those double bunks offer an industry-leading weight capacity and provide older kids with more space to spread out. The bottom bunk even folds up to add storage space between destinations, and the Murphy bed means your seating options more closely match this compact camper’s surprising sleeping capacity.

Rockwood Mini Lite 2214S

Images by Camping World

Specs

  • Length: 23’10”
  • Dry Weight: 5,275 pounds
  • Cargo Capacity: 1,550 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4

Favorite Feature: 6-Sided Full Aluminum Frame + Composite Wall Construction

Rockwood’s durable aluminum construction sets it apart from many of its competitors in the lightweight RV class. The Mini Lite 2214S offers a compact couples-friendly 24’ travel trailer floor plan with a single slide-out and a full-width rear bathroom.

With a robust standard solar package—comprising a 200W panel, a 1800W inverter, and a 30A controller—this 24-foot RV with a slide-out offers great off-grid potential. Additionally, Rockwood offers one of the industry’s best solar upgrade packages, which includes the ability to add up to five 200W panels, a 60A MPPT controller, a 460Ah lithium battery, and more.

Jayco Jay Flight SLX 211MBW

Specs

  • Length: 24’7
  • Dry Weight: 4,225 pounds
  • Cargo Capacity: 1,775 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 6

Favorite Feature: Hassle-Free Setup with No Slide-out

The Jay Flight SLX 211MB offers similar benefits to the 197MBW. However, this layout provides a simpler campsite setup thanks to being slide-free. Double bunks still offer comfortable beds for up to four small kids or two growing young adults. Thanks to the Murphy bed, everyone has more comfortable seating on rainy days, too.

Since you’re likely packing the whole family, Jayco smartly designed the rear bathroom in a split fashion. Someone can be using the shower or toilet while everyone else still has access to the rear sink and vanity. It’s a small design win that has big real-life applications once you’re camping.

Three 24-Foot Rear Bath Travel Trailers

A rear bathroom is a big plus in a travel trailer. On the road, it’s fully accessible for quick stops. At the campsite, its location at the back makes it easy to wash off muddy shoes, pets, or kids without tracking dirt through the entire camper.

Specs

  • Length: 23’11”
  • Dry Weight: 5,066 pounds
  • Cargo Capacity: 2,034 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4

Favorite Feature: Above-Average Bed, Fridge, & Shower Sizes

This rear bath 24-foot trailer has been one of the most popular floor plans in the Coleman lineup for some time. But the updated Coleman Legacy 1905RB improved on that longstanding reputation, thanks to some innovative Keystone additions like a 70” x 80” king bed, a 16-cubic-foot refrigerator, and a 30” x 40” shower—some of the biggest of each you’ll find in this class.

I also love that this 24’ travel trailer with a slide-out features theater seating across from a 50” TV. There’s a removable table for meals, but the open concept maximizes the floor space for your morning yoga routine when your outdoor patio isn’t an option. Keystone didn’t skimp on the bathroom either, featuring an elongated porcelain toilet and ample linen storage, which complements the oversized shower.

Rockwood Mini Lite 2205S

Specs

  • Length: 23’10”
  • Dry Weight: 5,132 pounds
  • Cargo Capacity: 1,662 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4 (with optional hide-a-bed)

Favorite Feature: Drop Frame Pass Through Storage

Another Rockwood favorite, the Mini Lite 2205S is an ideal 24-foot camper for couples. With its unique drop-frame construction, you’ll enjoy more cargo space in the underneath pass through, and they continued that theme with smart storage throughout—flip-up and drawer storage under the bed, dual bedside wardrobes and nightstands, a nearly full-height pantry and another ward next to the fridge, and a healthy-sized linen cabinet in the bathroom.

Another favorite feature is the flip-up desk beneath the TV. Suitable for one, it gives you a dedicated remote office space. And when it flips down, it still doesn’t block the supplemental heat from the electric fireplace. Theater seating is a win, too, with removable swivel tables for those TV dinner nights on the road.

Forest River Wolf Pup Black Label 16KHWBL

Specs

  • Length: 23’9”
  • Dry Weight: 3,989 pounds
  • Cargo Capacity: 1,646 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4

Favorite Feature: U-Shaped Dinette + Smart Kitchen Design

If the Coleman and Rockwood were a bit heavier than your tow vehicle can handle, check out the Wolf Pup 16KHW. This 24-foot pull-behind camper keeps it simple, yet offers all the essentials, including a queen bed and a U-shaped dinette that provides comfortable seating and a convertible sleeping space for guests. Many campers prefer this dinette style for its sleeping comfort.

In our opinion, Forest River made a wise design choice by opting for a single-basin sink and a two-burner cooktop in this compact trailer. That allows you to enjoy more counterspace than you’ll find in many similar models, reducing the need to use the dinette as extra meal prep space.

Honorable Mention

24-foot Travel Trailers with Bunkhouses

These 24-foot travel trailer bunkhouse floor plans are ideal for families with smaller tow vehicles. This RV size is still easily able to take a family of 4-8 on the road for a quick weekend trip or a longer vacation over several weeks. When not in use, the bunks can be used for storage without losing valuable floor space.

Specs

  • Length: 23’10”
  • Dry Weight: 5,625 pounds
  • Cargo Capacity: 1,321 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 7

Favorite Feature: Sleeping Capacity + Interior Storage

The Campsite lineup is one of the fastest-growing brands in the RV industry. Their Campsite Reserve 17LS provides families with an excellent camper in a compact package. It’s light enough to tow without a large truck and provides everyone with a comfortable place to sleep. But perhaps more importantly, there’s abundant interior storage for everyone’s stuff.

Forest River got creative with an extra-deep storage drawer on roller wheels under the bottom bunk, instead of the open storage area you’ll find in similar layouts. They continued that theme with full-depth drawers under both sides of the dinette and great pantry space built into the slide-out. Plus, it’s hard not to like the aesthetic of the huge square windows in this 24’ camper, which include reflective tinting for easier temperature control.

Forest River Wolf Pup 17JW

Specs

  • Length: 23’11”
  • Dry Weight: 4,311 pounds
  • Cargo Capacity: 1,396 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 8

Favorite Feature: Sleeping Capacity + Exterior Storage

With space to sleep up to eight, you’ll need extra room for gear, which is no problem with the Wolf Pup 17JW. This 24’ RV trailer boasts double bunks, a queen bed, and a huge U-shaped dinette with storage drawers underneath.

But the real storage winner is outside, where you’ll find front and rear storage compartments. Thanks to the bunk construction inside, the rear compartment is surprisingly spacious. Plus, Forest River added a mini fridge outside for expanded cold storage and easier access to your favorite camp beverages when you’re grilling or lounging outside.

Other Unique 24’ Travel Trailer Floor Plans

Here are a few more of our favorite 24-foot RV campers with unique layouts, including rear kitchen, rear dinette, rear living, and the oh-so-rare front dinette:

Forest River Wolf Pup 17SC

Specs

  • Floorplan: Rear Kitchen
  • Length: 23’10”
  • Dry Weight: 4,164 pounds
  • Cargo Capacity: 1,396 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4

Favorite Feature: Two-Person Dinette Doubles as a Desk

Aspiring camp chefs love the rear kitchen floor plan because it typically offers better space and flow than a mid-ship kitchen. In the Wolf Pup 17SC, this benefit extends to a more comfortable living space and a fully private bedroom, separated from the rest of the living area by a walk-through bathroom.

The living area also offers remote working couples an ideal setup, thanks to a two-person campside “dinette” that naturally doubles as a desk. There’s also great open bin storage beneath the desk, and a TV mount on the half wall for easy viewing from the jackknife sofa in the slide-out.

Keystone Coleman 19R

Specs

  • Floorplan: Rear Living
  • Length: 23’11”
  • Dry Weight: 4,114 pounds
  • Cargo Capacity: 1,886 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4

Favorite Feature: Separation of Space in a Slideless Layout

Going slideless is emerging as a theme in 2026, as manufacturers seek to offer layouts that maximize floor space and minimize maintenance. The Coleman 19R is an excellent example of this, with its cozy rear living layout that features a booth dinette and a jackknife sofa positioned at the back of the floor plan.

Keystone also maximized the kitchen counterspace in this 24-foot RV floor plan, thanks to a single-basin sink and a two-burner cooktop. You’ll be hard-pressed to find this much prep space in a compact camper of this size, but they didn’t compromise on bathroom space either, as this RV includes an oversized shower and great vanity space.

Forest River Wildwood FSX 161QK

Specs

  • Floorplan: Front Dinette
  • Length: 23’6”
  • Dry Weight: 3,691 (Standard) to 3,929 (Platinum) pounds
  • Cargo Capacity: 916 (Platinum) to 1,217 (Standard) pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4

Favorite Feature: U-Dinette to Queen Bed Conversion

Forest River has long been a pioneer in developing new, innovative floor plans. The Wildwood FSX 161QK fits their innovative mold, with a queen bed, L-shaped kitchen, split bathroom, and front U-shaped dinette, all fit into a balanced 24’ travel trailer layout.

The front dinette creates a great dining space for couples or small families, but the fact that it converts to a full queen bed is truly remarkable. Two queen beds in a camper under 30 feet is incredibly rare, but Wildwood managed to include them seamlessly while still providing a wonderfully functional kitchen and a convenient bathroom with the ability for one person to shower while the other uses the vanity or toilet.

Honorable Mentions

How Much Does a 24 Travel Trailer Weigh?

On average, a 24-foot travel trailer weighs between 3,500 and 6,000 pounds (dry weight), depending on the build quality, floorplan, and included features. Lightweight models with aluminum framing and fewer amenities may fall closer to 3,800 pounds, making them SUV-towable, while more feature-rich trailers with slideouts, larger kitchens, or upgraded materials often land in the 5,500–6,000-pound range.

Keep in mind that the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR)—the max the trailer can weigh once fully loaded with gear, water, and supplies—can add another 1,000 to 1,500 pounds.

Travel trailers between 24 and 28 feet are the most popular. The majority of travel trailers on the road are owned by RVers who travel seasonally. This form of vacation does not require large floor plans because it is generally unnecessary to have the storage capacity and amenities that one might want if traveling full-time

What Size Travel Trailer to Live In?

Determining the size of the travel trailer you need to live in depends on what you require for comfort – that is, both comfortable towing and comfortable living. An active couple would have no problem living full-time in a 24-foot travel trailer because two people do not need a lot of storage space or living space.

If you’re looking for something larger, check out these travel trailer guides.

What Size Travel Trailer Is Best for National Parks?

The benefit of camping in a national park is being surrounded by nature. Because of this, the campsites are typically small. Travel trailers under 30 feet are best for camping in national parks. However, some parks restrict RV lengths to less than 30 feet.

Read our National Park Guides for more information on RV size restrictions.

A 24-foot travel trailer floorplan is an affordable option for couples or small families who want to get the best of both worlds. You can travel to your favorite campground or even boondock in your travel trailer while staying dry and comfortable using household amenities such as a shower and a comfy mattress.
